Very strong winds are expected Sunday for Kansas and Oklahoma.
While the strongest winds are expected west of southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, the area is still under a high wind warning from 7 a.m. through 10 p.m. Sunday.
Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph are possible with gusts up to 60 mph. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected, and travel will be difficult.
In addition, a light dusting of snow is possible Sunday afternoon for southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, with up to a half inch of snow possible for the Chanute area.
