Firefighters from Montgomery County are traveling to central Kansas to assist in an out-of-control wildfire.

 

Last night, the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office at the State Emergency Operations Center in Topeka sent a request for a wildfire task force to local emergency management.

 

Montgomery County has assembled a four truck, eight person team that deployed this morning at 6 am for Marysville on a 2 day assignment to assist Marshal County with the wildfire.

 

The task force includes crews from Cherryvale, Independence, Dearing and Coffeyville.
