OSBI Concludes Search Near Picher with No Remains Found

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation concludes its recent excavation efforts north of Picher with no human remains found.

The O-S-B-I along with several other agencies began efforts this week to find the remains of Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible, two Welch, OK, girls who disappeared on December 30, 1999. The two 16-year-olds were discovered missing from the Freeman home after a fire broke out in the residence. In the charred remains of the home, investigators discovered the bodies of Danny and Kathy Freeman, Ashley's parents. Both had been shot execution style. Police believe the two girls were kidnapped and murdered, though their bodies have never been found.

O-S-B-I says that the current search has been concluded but the investigation remains open. Authorities ask that anyone with information on the crime to contact the O-S-B-I tip line at tips@osbi.ok.gov or by calling 1-800-522-8017.
