The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the discovery of human remains found last week in Morris County.
On Thursday evening March 5, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the KBI after skeletal remains were found in a field near K-4 and South 2800 Road, or about 20 miles south of Junction City. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded to the scene.
The Morris County Sheriff's Office and the KBI are aware of recent missing persons cases in the area. However, at this time, the identity of the deceased person has not been confirmed. Positive identification may take longer than typical cases due to the condition of the remains. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME. The investigation remains ongoing.
