Parsons Public Library Holds Ribbon Cutting for New Windows

Parsons holds a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new windows at the Parsons Public Library.

The $417,000 project was approved by the Parsons City Commission last year with the purpose of replacing the sloped windows in the building that leaked. Part of the plan in removing the old windows is that the new vertical windows added additional space to the existing building. The changes allowed for the addition of two meeting rooms and coffee bar with seating.

The library received $237,000 in grant funding for the project from the Kansas Department of Commerce with an additional $23,000 from the City of Parsons.

Library staff and patrons along with members of the Parsons City Commission were on hand for the ceremony last week.
