The first public session for the Independence Community-Based Strategic Plan session is slated for tonight.
It's an opportunity for Independence residents to let City leaders know what they would like the City to prioritize over the next 5 to 10 years. Tonight's meeting is the first of several scheduled meetings that the public is invited to attend. Independence Chamber President Lisa Wilson says residents are encouraged to make their voices heard.
Wilson says it's a great way to ensure that everyone gets a say.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Civic Center. There will be another meeting focused on senior citizens tomorrow morning at 8am in the Veterans Room at Memorial Hall and another on Friday morning following First Friday.
