Wilson County Commission Hears Requests from Sheriff's Department

The Wilson County Commission considers a request from the Sheriff's Department for handling drug overdoses.

At the Commission's most recent meeting, County Coordinator Kris Marple discussed requests by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office for overdose kits and Naloxone Emergency Kit Cabinets for area schools. The cabinets are small, wall-mounted boxes that contain Narcan in a secure case that can be used in case of drug overdoses.

Marple also presented the Emergency Solutions Grant Agreement with The Building Community as approved by the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. The agreement was approved by the commission as was a request for a landfill fee waiver from the City of Neodesha.

The Commission's next meeting will be today at 9am in Room 101 at the Wilson County Courthouse in Fredonia. The meeting is open to the public.
