USD 446 Announces Partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

USD 446 in Independence announces its partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The program will allow parents with children under the age of 5 to receive an age-appropriate book through the U.S. Postal Service each month. The books are tailored to each child's developmental stage — a toddler gets sturdy books for tiny hands, while a 4-year-old receives stories that challenge and delight. The program updates its selections yearly, so signing every child up separately ensures that siblings won't miss out on new titles suited to their ages. This also allows each child the opportunity to build their own collection and the personal excitement of mail addressed specifically to them.

Dolly Parton launched the Imagination Library in 1995, in hopes of inspiring more children to read by building their own home libraries regardless of their ability to purchase books.  For more information on how to sign up your child, grandchild, or just a youngster you would like to encourage to read, follow this link.
