A weekend accident leaves a pedestrian dead in Cowley County.
The accident occurred on Saturday evening around 7:20pm as 32-year-old Kasey Joe Barclay, formerly of Ponca City, was walking in the roadway of US-77 near the intersection of 242nd Road, about 3 miles north of Ark City. Barclay was struck by a northbound Nissan Rogue and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
