The City of Coffeyville will begin a major waterline replacement project on 8th Street this month.
Starting on Monday, March 23rd, Public Works will begin a phased installation along 8th Street from Lewark to Elm. Public Works Director Jim Wright says there will be some minor disruptions in water service along the construction route.
8th Street will remain open to traffic, but the route will be reduced to one lane of traffic in the active construction areas. Motorists should use caution and observe signage in the work zone. To minimize disruption to students and school traffic, work near the high school and middle school will be scheduled during the summer months of June and July, when school is not in session.
The project is expected to be completed by late September.
