Montgomery County Agrees to Seek Bids for New Heavy Equipment

The Montgomery County Commission approves a request from Public Works to seek bids to purchase a grader and a backhoe.

At yesterday’s meeting, Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins told commissioners that the purchases could be made within the department’s budget. He says, after consulting with supervisors, a decision was made as to what vehicles were most in need of replacement.

The grader to be replaced currently has around 13,000 hours of use on the machine. The county had previously purchased two other graders, but one requires a great deal of maintenance and is often in need of repair. Beurskins says Public Works has a total of nine graders and nearly all are in constant use.

In other business, commissioners received the proposed budgets for Fiscal Year 2027 from both adult and juvenile corrections. Both budgets were the same as for 2026.
