Authorities in Neodesha are warning young people who ride electric scooters that they must obey the rules of the road and use caution when traveling around town.

 

The issue came up at last week’s City Commission meeting, when a concerned citizen told commissioners that they had almost hit a child driving a scooter when the vehicle darted into traffic. City Manager Brogan Jones says the law treats scooters the same as bicycles.

 

Parents are encouraged to teach their children how to follow traffic laws and to ride with caution on City streets to avoid accidents that may cause serious injury or even death.
