One person is dead following a small plane crash in northwest Arkansas.

 

Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a plane crash in the waters of Beaver Lake located east of Rogers yesterday afternoon. Rescue boats deployed to the scene by the Highway 94 East Fire Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Dive team were able to locate the pilot.

 

61-year-old Kim Sweet was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

At this point, investigators do not know what caused the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the FAA and the NTSB.
