The Humanities Project from Coffeyville Community College offers a taste of the Old West as it welcomes musician Bob Bovee to the Spencer Rounds Theater .
Bovee presents a family-friendly one-hour program on the Old West featuring guitar, banjo, harmonica, autoharp, singing, and yodeling. While the cowboy is often a mythical figure, Bovee shares the real stories of their hard, sometimes humorous lives through songs of work, love, outlaws, and trail drives, mixed with old-time tunes from ranch dances and the mountains and plains.
Since 1971, Bovee has traveled the country performing at festivals, fairs, concerts, schools, libraries, and music camps. His performances combine historical insight, spirited tunes, and entertaining stories, keeping the traditions and spirit of the frontier alive for modern audiences.
Bovee will perform Tuesday night in the Spencer Rounds Theater on the CCC campus.
