A small aircraft makes and emergency landing in a cornfield near Emporia.
The incident occurred just before 10am on Monday morning. The fixed-wing, single-engine Grumman American was en route to an unknown destination when the propeller on the plane stopped working. The pilot 41-year-old Joseph Glover of Florida attempted to land the plane at a private airstrip near K-99 and 400 Road – about 20 miles north of Emporia - but was forced to down the plane in the field instead.
Glover and a male passenger in the aircraft were uninjured in the crash.
