Two Arrested in Independence on Warrants

A search warrant leads to two arrests in Independence.

According to the Independence Police Department, officers arrested 26-year-old Chase Andrew Vankirk and 38-year-old Christopher Dwayne Feliciano on multiple charges. Officers received information that a man with multiple outstanding warrants was staying in a garage behind a residence in that area. Officers responded and confirmed the suspect was possibly inside. After making contact at the garage, officers say the man refused to open the door. A search warrant was applied for and granted.

During execution of the search warrant, officers located and arrested Vankirk on outstanding warrants. Feliciano, who was also inside the garage, was taken into custody on an out-of-state felony warrant.  During the search, officers reported locating illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Both men were additionally charged with possession of hallucinogenic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine. Vankirk was also charged with interference with law enforcement.  Both individuals were transported to the Montgomery County Department of Corrections. Bond on the additional charges was set at $2,500 each with bond supervision.
