Firefighters from Wilson County Rural Fire respond to an evening grass fire.

 

The call came in around 9pm Tuesday night. Units responded to burning grass in a field located northeast of Fredonia. Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and were able to bring the blaze under control. Crews noted that the winds had died down as they were fighting the fire, allowing for an easier attack.

 

Authorities remind citizens to use extreme caution during the current warm, dry weather and to avoid any actions that might spark a fire.
