Today brings another risk of fire danger for the four-states.
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning from late morning through early evening for northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri and Kansas counties along the Missouri line.
A red flag warning means that a dangerous combination of weather conditions and dry vegetation is expected within 24 hours, favoring rapid growth and spread of any wildfires. The primary weather factors include stronger winds, lower humidity, and warmer temperatures.
Due to these concerns, area communities, including Nowata are not allowing burning inside city limits until further notice. Anyone in the four-state area is asked to avoid burning and be mindful of anything that could cause a spark.
