An Arizona man is facing multiple drug charges following an investigation in Parsons.
Parsons Police Department officers and Labette County Sheriff deputies saw two vehicles traveling together in what they described as an unusual manner. One of the vehicles was stopped, and deputies located controlled substances on the driver, who told authorities he had received the drugs from an associate in the second vehicle. Officers later stopped the second vehicle based on traffic violations and the ongoing investigation. During that stop, K9 Morgan conducted a free-air sniff, and the K9 alerted to the presence of narcotics.
The driver was identified as 59-year-old Jerold Scott Tracy of Golden Valley, Arizona. Officers say they located more than 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine, more than 480 pills believed to be Xanax, marijuana and digital scales and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution. All suspected narcotics have been submitted to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for testing. Tracy was transported to the Labette County Jail.
