The City of Parsons is holding a public hearing for a proposed business seeking to sell alcohol near Parsons Middle School.
The hearing is scheduled for March 2nd at 6:00pm in the City Commission Room at Parsons City Hall. The discussion will focus on a business located at 2911 Main Street, commonly known as the former Taco Tico building. The business is proposing to sell liquor within 800 feet of Parsons Middle School.
Under Parsons City Code Section 189-41, the City Commission may grant a waiver to the distance limitation following a public hearing and a determination that the proximity of the establishment to the school would not be adverse to public welfare or safety. Members of the public are invited to attend and provide input during the hearing.
