A juvenile suspect is in custody in Carthage after allegedly ramming a vape shop with a stolen vehicle in order to burglarize the business.

 

The incident occurred early Thursday morning when a Carthage Police officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in an area of the city that has been plagued by a recent string of break-ins. The officer then noticed damage to a nearby store front and a masked individual inside the building. The suspect then spotted the officer and fled on foot, leading to a short pursuit. The suspect was quickly apprehended and taken into custody.

 

The juvenile faces multiple charges, including burglary, theft, and resisting arrest.

 

Investigation led police to believe the suspect is also connected to as many as six other recent burglaries.
