The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating social media posts containing racially inappropriate content that have been circulating online.

The posts, which have appeared on multiple platforms, including some government-affiliated pages were presented in a way that suggests they were created by one of the deputies. The matter is currently under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office says the content does not reflect the values or professional standards of the agency, adding that it remains committed to serving all members of the community with fairness, integrity and respect.

Sheriff Ron Wade says they hold every member of their agency to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. He says they will not tolerate the misuse of social media to falsely represent their deputies or to spread divisive content and they are taking this matter seriously and will pursue all appropriate avenues to address it. Anyone with information related to the fraudulent account is encouraged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
