Parsons Trespass Complaint Leads to Arrest

A complaint of trespassing at a Parsons business leads to the arrest of a suspect on multiple charges.

Parsons Police officers responded to a call of trespassing at the Hastings Inn, a hotel located at 400 Main Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual later identified as 24-year-old Diamond Lashay Renee Lee was on the property and that hotel staff had asked for her to be trespassed from the property. Using surveillance video footage, officers were able to determine the room Lee was in. The suspect refused to answer the door, prompting police to obtain a search warrant.

As officers prepared to enter the room, another occupant identified as 27-year-old Daiquarrius Latreveon Higgins exited the room and was taken into custody. A search of the room revealed Lee to be hiding inside a large box filled with trash, food, and sanitary items. She was then arrested without incident.

Both suspects were taken to the Labette County Jail. Lee faces charges of Criminal Threat, Criminal Damage and Interference with Law Enforcement, as well as for multiple outstanding warrants from Parsons Municipal Court, Labette County, and Olathe, Kansas. Higgins faces charges of Interference with Law Enforcement and Harboring a Known Wanted Person.

The investigation remains ongoing.
