Montgomery County Commission To Receive Public Comment on BUILD Grant

The Montgomery County Commission will meet today and get an update on a federal grant program.

County Administrator Jonathan Booe will appear before the commission to give an update on the county's application for a Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development or BUILD grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The purpose of the grant would be to fund a major road project near the Bartlett soybean plant. Montgomery County applied for the grant a year ago and was not approved. The county is reapplying this year, and will receive public comment on the application at today's meeting.

County Director of Environmental and Zoning Matt Debo will also be at today's meeting to discuss a wastewater permit for Havana Lake.

Today's meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend the meeting in person or to view it online via the county's website.
