A Garden City man is dead after his car is struck by an Amtrak train.
The accident occurred around 3:30 Saturday morning when 25-year-old Aaron Pineda’s car got stuck on the railroad tracks near the junction of US-50 and 310th Road about 25 miles northwest of Pratt. Pineda was unable to free his vehicle and it was struck by an oncoming Amtrak train. Pineda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The conductor, engineer, and all 113 passengers of the train were uninjured.
