Bourbon County Rollover Crash Leaves Two Injured

Two people are left with minor injuries after a rollover accident on US-54 on Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred when a 1976 International Scout SUV driven by 56-year-old Ronald Maher of Redfield, Kansas, was traveling on US-54 about 10 miles northwest of Fort Scott and slowed to make a left turn onto 125th Street. The vehicle following him – a 2021 Lincoln Nautilus driven by 23-year-old Alexis Kruger of Fort Scott – did not see Maher’s vehicle slow and struck it on the rear quarter panel as it was in mid turn, causing it to roll down an embankment into the ditch.

Maher and a passenger in his SUV both suffered minor injuries and were taken to Freeman Hospital in Fort Scott. No other injuries were reported.
