Two pedestrians are injured in a weekend accident in Thayer.
The incident occurred around 5pm on Saturday in the parking lot at Big Ed’s Steakhouse in Thayer. 79-year-old Richard Wilson of Independence was attempting to park his 2019 Honda Civic when his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. This caused the vehicle to lunge forward and strike two pedestrians.
84-year-old Barbara Ward and 79-year-old Harriet Ginn, both of Parsons, were injured in the accident. Ginn was taken to KU Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.
