The USD 445 Board of Education is set to meet tonight and discuss the fate of the Charlesworth Pool at Field Kindley High School.

The Board has been considering the issue of whether to renovate the swimming pool at the high school or to demolish the structure and the building for over a year. The issue has sparked public debate that has grown heated at times over the past few months. On tonight’s agenda is an action item that would see the district enter into a memo of agreement with the community group Friends of the Charlesworth Pool. The group has raised a significant portion of the required funding to renovate the pool from community donations since last summer. A decision is expected to be made at tonight’s meeting.

The USD 445 School Board meeting is open to the public. The meeting starts at 4pm this afternoon at the District Office, located at 615 South Ellis Street in Coffeyville.
