Feed Elk County is a local organization that provides food support through blessing boxes and mobile pantry distributions.
The group began by placing small food pantries, known as blessing boxes, in towns across Elk County and in Severy to increase access to food in rural communities. According to the organization, regular use of the blessing boxes led to an expansion of services. Feed Elk County will now offer a mobile food pantry once a month at the Moline Community Center and Moline Public Library.
They say the program relies on volunteers and donations. Information on volunteering, donating, and supporting the pantry is available through the group’s Facebook page. Their first distribution will be on February 18th at 1:00pm.
