Authorities in northeast Oklahoma are investigating the recent death of an inmate at the Ottawa County Jail in Miami.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to handle the inquiry into the death of 34-year-old Wesley Dainty. Dainty was found unresponsive in his cell around 7am on Tuesday morning. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. Dainty had been in custody since January 8th on charges of domestic assault and battery
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. Officials said the death is being investigated as a possible suicide, though no determination has been made.
