The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a bridge replacement today in western Bourbon County.
The bridge is located on 60th Street about 6 miles south of the City of Uniontown just west of K-3. Construction will begin today on the bridge that crosses a tributary of Hinton Creek. The section of 60th Street will be closed to all traffic until the project is complete, which is expected to be sometime this fall. The project was awarded to B&B Bridge of St. Paul for just over $700,000 and was funded through the KDOT Off-System Bridge and the Kansas Local Bridge Improvement programs. The programs target improvements to city and county bridges not on the state highway system and in need of replacement and repair.
