The Caney City Council will meet tonight and get an update on the progress of the project to connect the City’s water system to Coffeyville.

 

Holly Powers of Midwest Engineering will appear before the council this evening to provide an update on the connection project. At the previous meeting, Mayor Josh Elliott reported that the City had begun the process of securing right-of-ways for the installation of the water line.

 

Also at tonight’s meeting, council members will discuss and consider the updated Kansas Set Off Agreement. The agreement allows state agencies, courts, and municipalities to intercept payments owed to individuals or businesses such as tax refunds or state wages to satisfy outstanding debts. A discussion of sewer rate adjustments is also expected.

 

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 on the east end of the City Hall building on West 4th Avenue. The public is invited to attend.
