A simple item that many toss aside is helping make a difference for families right in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Farm Bureau is once again partnering with the Local Health Equity Action Team on a container garden project designed to support low-income families and deserving individuals across the county.
The project uses empty protein tubs as planters, giving participants an easy way to grow fresh produce, even without access to traditional garden space. Community members can help by donating clean, empty protein containers. Drop-off locations include Beachner Grain in Independence and Coffeyville Feed and Farm.
