The Science and Technology Center in Independence will hold a Kansas Day event on Saturday.

There will be a free presentation by Amanda Allen. Allen in an Independence native who teaches history and social studies at Independence Middle School and creates social media content on Kansas history as ThatKSHistoryNerd. Allen's presentation will focus on interesting historical travel destinations in Kansas. The public is invited to attend her presentation at 2pm on Saturday at the Science and Technology Center, located at 125 South Penn avenue.
