Columbus Fire Crews Have Busy Night With Two Structure Fires

 

Columbus firefighters respond to two structure fires.

 

The first call came in around 10:15 Tuesday night when emergency crews were dispatched to assist the Lola Township Fire Department with a structure fire near the Cherokee/Labette County line. Crews were on the scene for nearly two hours but were able to successfully battle blaze.

 

Firefighters were called out once again just before midnight to assist the Galena Fire Department with a second house fire in Crestline, or about 7 miles east of Columbus. Columbus fire responded to that call with four units and 10 fire personnel.

 

Both homes were a total loss, but no injuries were reported.
