The City of Independence is asking residents to help City sanitation crews by making sure dumpsters and polycarts are free of snow and ice.

With the recent winter storm and the following melting and freezing, ice and piles of snow around dumpsters and polycarts make it difficult for sanitation crews to do their jobs. In order to ensure prompt and efficient trash pick up, the City is asking residents to make sure their dumpsters and carts are easy to access.

City crews have been working hard and are fully staffed in an attempt to ensure routes are running on schedule.
