Coffeyville Working to Keep Sherwin-Williams

The Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce and the City of Coffeyville are working together to advocate for the continued presence of Sherwin-Williams in the community.

Sherwin-Williams has deep roots in Coffeyville, dating back to 1906, when the company opened a smelting and manufacturing facility that helped shape the city’s early industrial growth. That legacy still lives on today through Sherwin-Williams Park, a popular community gathering space. Recently, the company has announced plans to close its Coffeyville store as part of a broader corporate review. City and Chamber leaders say the possible closure is especially difficult given the store’s importance to local contractors, businesses and the surrounding region.

The City and Chamber have formally reached out to corporate leadership to highlight the store’s regional value, the company’s long-standing ties to Coffeyville and to explore possible partnerships or incentives to keep the location open. Community members are also being encouraged to share letters with Sherwin-Williams corporate offices explaining why the Coffeyville store matters. Anyone interested in supporting the effort is asked to contact the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce.
