The Sedan City Council discusses ownership and responsibility of a building at the fairgrounds.
At this week's meeting, council members appointed four individuals to the Chautauqua County Fair Board. Several board members were in attendance at the meeting with questions about a January 6th Council discussion on granting a local retailer temporary use of one of the buildings at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. Fair Board Secretary Joni Hubert says the Board would have liked to have been part of that discussion.
Council member Angela Evans says the City Council had plans to consult the Fair Board before making a final decision on the matter.
It was decided that a committee would be formed at the February 3rd council meeting.
In other business, council members voted to release of C-D-B-G grants funds for the Sedan Public Library, to K-W Contractors of Chanute. The contract to repair the roof of the Sedan City Hall building was also approved for a total of just over $16,000 to Ram's Head Roofing of Sedan.
