Independence Community College continues its search for a new president.
The ICC Board of Trustees met last night for the first time in 2026 and one of the main goals for the new year is to find a new school president. Board Chair John Eubanks says the school has been looking at a large number of applicants for the position.
The college has been searching for a new president intermittently since the resignation of Dr. Vincent Bowhay in 2024. At that time, Dr. Jonathan Sadhoo was appointed as Interim President. He remained in that role for a year before being appointed as permanent president in May 2025 to lead the school through consolidation with Coffeyville Community College. When ICC pulled out of that process, Sadhoo then resigned in October. Vice President of Academic Affairs Taylor Crawshaw was then selected as Interim President. Eubanks says the hiring committee will form soon.
In other business at last night's meeting, Eubanks and Isaias McCaffery were sworn in as new members. Eubanks was then selected to serve as Board Chair with Patricia Snyder chosen as Vice-Chair.
