Five people are in custody following a drug bust in Cherryvale.
On Saturday, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on a residence in the 600 block of East 9th Street in Cherryvale. During the search, deputies discovered 172 grams of methamphetamine and 280 grams of marijuana, along with various drug paraphernalia. The owner of the home 37-year-old Rae Rash was taken into custody along with 42-year-old Brandy Barnett, 41-year-old Brandi Welch, 33-year-old Clayton Harper, and 36-year-old Jeffrey Mayberry. A juvenile was also found in the home and placed in protective custody.
All five were taken to the Montgomery County Jail and booked on multiple charges including possession and distrubution of methamphetamine and marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and aggravated endangerment of a child.
The case has been sent to the Montgomery County Attorney's Office for formal charging. All suspects are presumed innocent.
