Extreme Cold, Snowfall Possible This Weekend

Extreme cold temperatures are on the way for the four-state area.

According to the latest from the National Weather Service, the potential for dangerously cold wind chills is likely to impact the four-state area from Friday through Saturday as arctic air spreads southward across the region. Temperatures Friday and Saturday night could be in the single digits, with daytime highs Saturday in the teens.

Snowfall is also possible with this storm, with the best chances being in northeast Oklahoma, although southern Kansas and Missouri and northwest Arkansas will also see the possibility of a winter storm. Confidence continues to increase in the potential for minor to moderate winter weather for portions of northeast Oklahoma. Snowfall amounts and duration of the cold temperatures extending into Monday remain uncertain at this time. Stay tuned for additional updates as the weekend approaches.
