Income tax season starts next week and that can mean scam season.

University of Missouri Extension Andrew Zumwalt says this a big time of the year for identity thieves and scammers.  Zumwalt says there are some things to watch for to prevent having your identity stolen or falling victim to a scam.

The IRS recommends keeping tax documents for between three to seven years and then shredding those documents once they are no longer needed.
