Authorities in Arkansas say a Cuban woman has entered a guilty plea to three charges of perjury and one count of violating voter eligibility.
59-year-old Cecillia Castellanos was arrested in September and pled to the charges last week in Rogers, Arkansas. Arkansas officials stated in October that she had previously voted in a general election. Castellanos was sentenced to serve 5 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections with an additional 16 years suspended. She has also been ordered not to register or attempt to register for any future elections at any level.
Arkansas State Attorney General Tim Griffin also stated that Castellanos has had a removal order since 1999.
