An arrest is made in connection to a string of break-ins at small town post offices in Cherokee County.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office has arrested 54-year-old Jackie Wimp of Oswego in connection to the string of three burglaries that occurred at the Post Offices in West Mineral, Scammon, and Weir in December. Cherokee County Detectives investigated the case and sought assistance from the public in identifying the suspect. Authorities say charges of Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property have been submitted to the Cherokee County Attorney’s Office. Wimp is also suspected of committing similar crimes elsewhere in Kansas and in Missouri and Oklahoma.
She was booked into the Cherokee County Jail in a $10,000 bond.
