An anonymous donor wipes out breakfast and lunch debt for Winfield students.

USD 465 in Winfield announced Thursday that the district had received an unexpected donation of just over $15,000 to eliminate outstanding debt for student meal accounts. More than half of the student population in USD 465 qualify for free or reduced meals and about 450 students had a negative balance on their meal accounts. The donation will allow all students in the Winfield district to begin the spring semester with no debt on their accounts.
