The USD 447 Cherryvale-Thayer School Board passes the latest policy recommendations from the Kansas Association of School Boards.
At this week's board meeting, the changes passed unanimously with only a few amendments. One change was to graduation standards, with the board opting to include several standards that are specific to USD 447. Superintendent Travis Githens says the board will also wait to approve the policy regarding artificial intelligence.
Githens adds that he would also like to wait to approve part of the bullying policy.
Also at this month's meeting, the board elected Gina Booe to serve as president for the coming year while selecting Robert John as vice-president.
