Altamont City Council Begins Year by Recognizing LCHS Football

The Altamont City Council recognizes the efforts of the Labette County High School football team.

At last week’s city council meeting, coaching staff and members of the Labette County High School football team were in attendance and had their historic season recognized by the City. Mayor Richard Hayward says Altamont is very proud of their winning season and their first ever appearance in a state semi-final game.

In other business, the council received an update from City Manager LeeAnn Myer on the State Revolving Fund Loan Application for sewer system repairs that was approved by the council in October. Police Chief Michael Shields also reported on his officers’ work. Shields says one of his officers helped keep a recent fire from getting out of control.

The Altamont City Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month.
