A former Independence Police officer joins the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The KHP has announced that former City of Independence Police officer Ben Roark has officially been accepted to become a K-H-P Trooper Trainee. Roark will begin his training with Class 75 and will be stationed in KHP-Troop H in Montgomery County up his completion of the KHP Training Academy.
Roark is a graduate of Independence High School and has served as a police officer in Independence since 2023.
