The Allen County Sheriff's Office in Iola is looking for public input as the new year begins.
Deputies will be on the job, enforcing the law, arresting criminal suspects, and writing tickets for speeders and others who run afoul of the law. However, sheriff’s deputies will also be out in public, attending community events in their official roles, and reaching out to members of the community. Allen County Sheriff Anthony Maness says his department is planning to hold several concealed carry classes; to conduct more site security evaluations; and to ensure his deputies are working with community partners on several other events coming in 2026.
Maness adds that any residents on Allen County who have ideas on where deputies should be patrolling more can suggest the where and when by sending a direct message via the Department Facebook page.
