The Kansas state system used to conduct VIN checks is currently unavailable.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says due to the outage it is unable to complete VIN inspections at this time. The suspension took effect at 1:00pm today. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation has not provided an estimated time for when the system will be restored.
Officials say the public will be notified once the system is back online and VIN inspections can resume. In the meantime, residents are asked for patience while the issue is addressed at the state level.
